Frontiers in Materials

October 29 - October 30

About the Seminar:

Materials are extensively used in engineering because of their special combination of mechanical and physical properties. They form the backbone of automobile, agriculture, mining, construction and communication industries. Material science deals with the understanding of different types of materials, their structure and the relationship that exists between the structural elements of materials and their properties whereas Materials Engineering applies the principles of science and engineering to the development, production and use of metallic, ceramic, plastic and composite materials. Understanding the relationship between processing, structure and properties enables materials to be engineered for specific end use requirements. Materials sector plays a major role in India’s economy. The present
seminar looks at the latest advancement in the area of materials.

Frontiers of Materials Science is a peer-reviewed international journal that publishes high quality reviews/mini-reviews, full-length research papers, and short Communications recording the latest pioneering studies on all aspects of materials science. The Energy Materials section publishes pioneering fundamental and applied research on the rational design of materials used in all forms of sustainable energy.
