Fundamentals of Energy Management and Applications

November 25 - November 29

The energy is inevitable for life and life without energy cannot be imagined. However, today’s energy sources are mainly based on fossil fuels and almost 63 % of India’s energy is based on it. Fossil fuels are having important issues such as limited resources, environmental pollution due to emission of greenhouse gases, etc. To deal with this one of the solution is efficient use of energy. The main objective of this program is to understand fundamentals of energy management and its’ applications for various industries. Energy management is useful for any industry in controlling its operating cost as fuel prices are always fluctuating with overall increasing trend. Further reduction in fuel will help to decrease local, regional, and global pollution due to emission of flue gases.

The institute was initially established as Sardar Vallabhbhai Regional College of Engineering & Technology in 1961 and it is elevated to Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology with the status of ‘Deemed University’ on 4th October 2002. The Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology (SVNIT) is one of the pioneering engineering institutions of the country, which has contributed many outstanding engineers in India and abroad. It is conducting six UG programs, seventeen PG programs, three integrated five years M. Sc. Programs, and Ph.D. program in all disciplines of engineering and applied sciences. Special attention is given to interdisciplinary research all  across departments.
