About Your Job:
As an Aircraft Mechanic, Light Base Maintenance (B1 or B2) you will be responsible for all aviation maintenance activities in accordance with Aviation Regulations, QCAA and Qatar Airways standards and procedures to the highest shop practices, and in the interest of safety of flight. As well as providing operational results as set by the unit you will also be expected to ensure that performance targets are met in relation to productivity.
About You:
We are looking for a recognised aeronautical / technical college diploma / approved apprenticeship holder with a minimum of 5 years of job related experience (not including training) in which atleast 3 years experience in base maintenance on one or more aircraft types operated by Qatar Airways. Internal candidates should have a minimum total of 5 years experience as an Aircraft Mechanic of which at least 3 years working on modern jet aircraft or minimum of 2 years internal experience as an Assistant Mechanic on jet aircrafts. You should have the ability to perform most tasks and duties independently typical to area of speciality. Should be able to perform routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is required.

Work description:

  • Support the customer in Concessions stress analysis work by following applicable standards and working procedures
  • Perform QN Justification for NCs on Composite and Metallic Structures
  • Ability to make technical decisions and resolve technical problems of complex scope
  • Prepare a database of QN/NC by defining appropriate fields that would help in analysis

Key Technical Competencies:

Wanted Knowledge Engineer, GKN Aerospace


You will play a key role in the realization of the EWIS Optimization vision, delivering advanced tools and methods to automatically generate the best possible (e.g. cost / weight) electrical wiring design for aircraft. The vision is to radically change the Product Development Process into a frontloaded design process utilizing design automation (KBE) and –optimization (MDO) techniques. This allows the re-use of engineering knowledge to significantly reduce design lead-times and optimize the wiring design, which is critical in the increasingly electrified aircraft of today and tomorrow.

The position:

A full-time position at the Technology department of Fokker Elmo, which develops enablers for new process- and product solutions. It strives to develop (future) technology that provides significant value to the company. The Fokker Elmo Technology department is part of GKN Aerostructures & Systems Europe & ASEA .

Daily activities include knowledge acquisition, (KBE) tools development and optimization process setup activities. Knowledge acquisition includes the capture of explicit & tacit EWIS engineering knowledge with our design experts. KBE tool development includes defining the software architecture, programming and verification.

Your profile:

Knowledge, experience and qualifications:

  • Academic degree in scientific and engineering discipline (MSc), preferably Aerospace Engineering or Information Technology;
  • Knowledge of and experience in object oriented programming languages (e.g. Python) and KBE platforms / systems;
  • Knowledge of numerical optimization techniques for “Multidisciplinary Design Optimization” (MDO);
  • Affinity with relevant software development processes and data modeling methods;
  • Good verbal and written command of English and preferably Dutch.
