secondary surveillance –  radar Ground radar which interrogates air traffic with identifiable codes of pulses, triggers distinctive response from each target, extracts plots and assigns identity to each, normally presented as
flight number, altitude and other information beside target on radar display [Mode A provides coded target identiy, C altitude and S selective interrogation]. Aerial normally slaved in azimuth to main surveillance (primary) radar and may be on-mounted.

Wanted Principal Security Research Lead, Microsoft

Responsibilities

  • Source and hire world class researcher talent, helping to build a new team in Israel focused on network detection and response.
  • Direct attacker tradecraft research and threat landscape understanding to drive network detection and response strategy including protection for unmanaged devices and enterprise IOT devices and threats.
  • Lead this team of researchers, in partnership with engineers and data scientists, to deliver innovative new product capabilities.  This includes helping design and implement approaches for capturing networking telemetry, automatic discovery and identification of networking devices, and detection logic discovering real world attacks on customer networks.
  • Support and contribute to active engagement with the security ecosystem through papers, presentations, and blogs.

    Qualifications

  • 5+ years of leadership experience directly managing people.
  • 8+ years of experience in cyber security with a background in the modern attacker kill-chain and MITRE ATT&CK, most notably recon, lateral movement, and exfiltration techniques.
  • BS or equivalent experience in computer science, engineering, or information technology.
  • Understanding of networking protocols and the OSI model from Layer 2 to Layer 7 including HTTP, TCP, UDP, IP, SNMP, and ARP.
  • Experience with passive and active network fingerprinting including usage of tools like NMAP and p0f.
  • Experience with security in real customer networking environments, including penetration testing, adversary hunting and detection, or network design and implementation.
  • Proficient in at least one programming language such as Python, Java, C#, or C++.
  • Excellent cross-group and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate the business need for product improvements and a desire to engage directly with customers.
  • Experience working with and manipulating large data sets (i.e. billions of events per day).
  • Written and verbal fluency in English.
